Men's Health
A discreet circumcision clinic and men's health centre in Drummoyne, Sydney — adult and child circumcision, phimosis treatment and foreskin procedures performed in-clinic under local anaesthesia by an experienced circumcision doctor.
Many men put off seeing a doctor about intimate health concerns — sometimes for years. Our men's health service at Skin Cancer Laser Centre in Drummoyne, Sydney was set up to make that conversation easier. We provide adult circumcision, child circumcision, phimosis treatment and other foreskin-related procedures in a private clinic setting, with procedures performed under local anaesthesia.
Dr Andrew Li is a GP with FRACGP and more than 26 years of clinical experience. At your consultation he will assess your condition, explain the treatment options in plain language, and help you decide what is right for you — with no pressure and no rush.
Our circumcision centre offers a focused range of men's health procedures, all performed in-clinic rather than in hospital:
As a dedicated circumcision clinic in Sydney, we see men and boys from across the Inner West and greater Sydney area who want a straightforward, private and well-explained procedure.
Adult circumcision is one of the most common procedures we perform. At our circumcision clinic the procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia, which means you are awake, the area is fully numbed, and you can go home the same day. There is no hospital stay and no general anaesthetic.
Men choose adult circumcision for many different reasons: a tight foreskin (phimosis) that is difficult or painful to retract, recurrent balanitis or foreskin infections, discomfort during exercise or intimacy, or a personal and cultural preference. Whatever your reason, the first step is always the same — an unhurried consultation to examine the foreskin, discuss your goals and make sure circumcision is the right option for you.
Recovery is usually straightforward. Most men return to desk work within a few days, and the doctor will give you clear written instructions on wound care, showering, exercise and when intimate activity can reasonably resume. As with any surgical procedure, there are risks — bleeding, infection and changes in sensitivity are discussed in detail at the consultation so you can make an informed decision. More detail is available on our circumcision service page.
We provide children circumcision for boys aged 5 and over, performed under local anaesthesia with a parent or guardian present in the room throughout the procedure. Many families choose circumcision for cultural, religious or family reasons; others come to us because of a medical problem such as a genuinely tight foreskin or repeated infections.
It is worth knowing that in young boys the foreskin is often naturally attached to the head of the penis and gradually separates over time — many cases of "tight foreskin" in childhood resolve on their own without any procedure. At the consultation the doctor will examine your son, explain what is normal for his age, and give you an honest opinion about whether circumcision is needed now or whether simple watchful waiting is reasonable. For some children, a short course of non-surgical treatment is tried first.
A note for parents: the consultation is for you as much as for your son. Ask every question you have — about the procedure, pain control, aftercare and recovery — before deciding. We will never pressure a family into booking a procedure.
Phimosis means a foreskin that cannot be pulled back over the head of the penis. It can be present from childhood (physiological phimosis) or develop later in life, often after scarring or repeated inflammation (pathological phimosis). Common complaints include difficulty cleaning under the foreskin, pain during intimacy, splitting of the foreskin opening, and recurrent balanitis — inflammation of the head of the penis and inner foreskin.
Phimosis treatment depends on the cause and how much it bothers you:
Paraphimosis is an emergency. If the foreskin is retracted behind the head of the penis and cannot be returned to its normal position, the tissue can swell and the blood supply can be affected. This needs urgent medical attention — go to a hospital emergency department rather than waiting for a clinic appointment.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is common — most men experience it at some point, and it becomes more frequent with age. Occasional difficulty is usually nothing to worry about, but persistent ED is worth discussing with a doctor, because it can sometimes be an early sign of underlying health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes or hormonal problems. Psychological factors, medications and lifestyle can all contribute.
At our men's health clinic, an ED consultation is a structured medical assessment: the doctor takes a full history, checks relevant health factors such as blood pressure, arranges basic investigations where appropriate, and reviews any medications that may be contributing. From there we discuss the full range of erectile dysfunction treatment options — lifestyle changes, medical therapy, psychological support and referral pathways — and what the current evidence says about each. We do not promise outcomes, and any prescription treatment is offered only where it is clinically appropriate for you.
You will never be booked for a procedure at the first consultation unless you ask for it. Men travel to our circumcision centre in Drummoyne from across Sydney precisely because the process is explained, unhurried and pressure-free.
We understand that men's health concerns are personal. Appointments are booked and conducted with discretion: private consultation rooms, male staff available on request where possible, and medical records handled under standard Australian privacy law. Whether you are coming in for circumcision sydney-wide or for a quiet discussion about phimosis or erectile dysfunction, you will be treated respectfully — the way we would want a member of our own family to be treated.
